Celina Guedes, Regional Director Brazil at EGT, discusses the company’s strategic goals for SiGMA South America 2026 and opportunities within the country’s evolving regulatory framework for this year.
Exclusive interview.- More than a year after the Brazilian gaming market officially opened, the companies that entered the country are now looking to consolidate their position and gain ground in an increasingly competitive environment. To achieve this, the key lies in securing strategic partnerships and ensuring long-term scalability.
Ahead of one of the most important events in the region, SiGMA South America, Focus Gaming News spoke to Celina Guedes, regional director Brazil at EGT, about the company’s strategy in this evolving landscape, Brazil’s growth potential and the opportunities emerging across both online and land-based segments.
What does EGT expect from SiGMA South America? What are your main goals for the event?
SiGMA South America has become one of the most influential gatherings for the gaming industry in Latin America, and for EGT it represents a strategic moment to reinforce our long-term commitment to the region.
Brazil is rapidly positioning itself as one of the most important regulated gaming markets globally. With the new regulatory framework now taking shape, the country is entering a new phase of structured and sustainable growth for the industry.
Our main goal at SiGMA South America is to strengthen strategic partnerships with operators, platforms and industry stakeholders who are building this new regulated ecosystem. We also see the event as an opportunity to present EGT’s technology and content portfolio, including solutions that can support both the online segment and potential future opportunities in land-based operations, such as VLT environments, depending on how the market evolves.
For us, the event is about building long-term relationships and positioning EGT as a reliable partner for operators looking to grow in Brazil and across Latin America.
How do you intend to surprise visitors at the expo? Do you plan to introduce new products this year?
At SiGMA South America, visitors will have the opportunity to experience the strength of EGT’s global portfolio and understand why our products consistently perform well across multiple markets.
Our focus is not only on presenting games, but on demonstrating the robustness of EGT’s ecosystem — combining engaging game mechanics, strong mathematical models and reliable technology platforms.
EGT has extensive experience across both online and land-based gaming environments. This gives us a unique advantage as Latin American markets evolve and explore different regulatory models, including opportunities related to VLT operations in certain jurisdictions.
We are continuously expanding and adapting our portfolio to meet the expectations of operators and players in the region, always focusing on performance, scalability and long-term value.
What development opportunities do you identify in the Brazilian market for 2026?
Brazil is entering a transformational moment for the gaming industry. With regulation now moving forward, the country has the potential to become one of the largest regulated gaming markets in the world.
For 2026, we see opportunities developing across multiple segments. The online market will continue to expand rapidly, driven by high mobile adoption and strong player engagement. At the same time, discussions around land-based opportunities — including the possible implementation of VLT operations in certain environments — could further expand the ecosystem in the coming years.
Brazilian players are highly engaged and responsive to entertainment experiences that combine strong visual identity, intuitive gameplay and reliable performance. Companies that understand these dynamics and are able to adapt their content to local preferences will be well-positioned for growth.
For EGT, this represents an opportunity to bring our international experience and proven portfolio to support operators as the market matures.
“Brazil has the potential to become one of the largest regulated gaming markets in the world.”Celina Guedes, regional director Brazil at EGT.
What are EGT Brazil’s main priorities until the end of the year?
Our main priorities for the remainder of the year are focused on consolidating EGT’s presence in Brazil and strengthening relationships with operators and strategic partners within the regulated market.
The regulatory process is creating a more structured and transparent environment for the industry, which is extremely positive for long-term investment and market development.
At EGT Brazil, we are focused on expanding partnerships, increasing the visibility of our portfolio and supporting operators with high-performing content and reliable technology.
At the same time, we are closely monitoring regulatory developments and potential opportunities in both the online and land-based segments — including possible VLT initiatives — to ensure that EGT is well positioned to support the next phase of growth in the Brazilian gaming industry.
