Exclusive interview.- Georgi Mihaylov, deputy CEO of EGT Digital, spoke to Focus Gaming News during SBC Summit Lisbon 2025, which took place in September. He shared details about the launch of its in-house AI platform and the company’s next objectives.
He also spoke about the igaming industry’s challenges and opportunities, and how the company, as a tech leader, fosters innovation while ensuring operational discipline and regulatory alignment.
Let’s start with the big news – EGT Digital officially announced the launch of its in-house AI platform. What kind of reaction did you receive from the industry and what makes this platform different from what’s already on the market?
The reaction has been extremely positive. Operators and partners recognize that we didn’t just integrate off-the-shelf AI tools – we built a proprietary system from the ground up, combining custom hardware, software, and our own data science expertise.
That gives us full control over how AI is trained, deployed, and monitored.
What makes it different is that it’s one in-house AI core powering the entire business – from proactive player protection and churn prediction to intelligent campaigns, QA automation, and personalized game recommendations.
Most solutions today are siloed; ours is holistic. And because responsibility is built into its DNA, operators see measurable growth while players get safer, more engaging experiences.
The iGaming industry is evolving fast. In your view, what are the biggest challenges and opportunities?
The biggest challenge is balancing innovation with responsibility. As technology accelerates, regulators and players rightly expect higher standards of transparency, fairness, and protection. Meeting these expectations while still delivering exciting entertainment is the key test.
The opportunity lies in using AI and data responsibly to personalize experiences in real time, predict risks before they happen, and unlock new efficiencies for operators. Those who get this balance right will win long-term trust and long-term growth.
As a tech leader, how do you foster innovation while ensuring operational discipline and regulatory alignment?
For us, innovation and discipline go hand in hand. We don’t chase shiny objects for the sake of it – we build solutions that are scalable, reliable, and ready to perform in the real world. Every idea goes through a clear process: we test it, challenge it, refine it, and only then bring it to market. That structure gives our teams the freedom to be bold and creative, while ensuring we stay on track, deliver on time, and meet every industry requirement. In short – we innovate with purpose, and we execute with precision.
EGT Digital is now active in over 50 regulated markets. What’s next on the horizon for the company?
Crossing the 50-market mark is a milestone, but for us it’s just the beginning. The priority now is scaling our platform across those markets and preparing for new opportunities, especially in LatAm, Africa, the Nordics, and the Baltics.
Content is a big part of what’s next. Here at SBC, visitors were able to play demos of our expanding library of 150+ in-house developed games and top-performing jackpots like Bell Link, Clover Chance and the new Gods & Kings Link. For us, combining an engaging content with powerful platform is what creates real value for operators.
Our philosophy is global scale, local precision – delivering the same strong solutions everywhere, while adapting to regulation, language, and player preferences in each market.
What advice would you give to other gaming companies looking to build proprietary tech in-house?
